Welcome to North York Knights House League Hockey

Online registration is now open and can be completed at the bottom of this page.

Please review the following instructions in order to successfully complete your child’s online registration.

Consider printing this page so you have it available during the process.

When registering, we request that you use an email address that you check regularly as this will be our means of communication with you  and our players. Please do NOT use your child’s email address for registration purposes. If you have used your child’s email address within the registration system, you do have an option to edit the information.

Hockey Canada Registry

The North York Knights Hockey Association (the “Knights”) uses the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) for enrolment.  If you are a returning player, you will be able to enter the site using the email and password that was used in the previous year. If you are a new player you will need to create a new profile using your email address and creating a password.

All fields within the registration are self explanatory and the system will prompt you if you forget to answer any of the mandatory questions. Once you complete the Member’s Information you will choose which Division your child will be playing in. Please note that only the name of the division will appear (i.e. Novice, Atom, Bantam, etc)based on the player’s birth date as entered.  . In the next step you will be prompted to choose Major or Minor according to your child’s year of birth. PLEASE DO NOT PLACE YOUR CHILD IN A DIVISION  FOR WHICH THEY ARE INELIGIBLE. PLEASE NOTE IF YOU DO REGISTER FOR A DIVISION FOR WHICH YOUR CHILD IS INELIGIBLE  YOUR PAYMENT WILL BE ACCEPTED BUT YOUR REGISTRATION MAY BE DENIED BY THE KNIGHTS. For instance, don’t try to place your child born in 2000 with those born in 2001.

All House League Players and Parents

House League games are held on Sunday evenings. Practices are held throughout the day on Saturdays, for all divisions save Midget. We will be drafting our House League teams in September. You will receive an email/phone call from your child’s House League coach once teams have been drafted, providing you with practice times and arenas as well as our regular season schedule. Unfortunately, we cannot provide practice and game schedules for any of our teams or divisions before the team draft in September. Our House League practices and games are played out of various arenas. Arenas will be assigned to teams/divisions once our teams are drafted in September. Parents/Players cannot choose which arenas they will be practicing/playing from.

There may be pre-season exhibition games for the Tyke, Minor Novice and Novice divisions before the Thanksgiving weekend. Our coaches will contact all players in these three divisions should they be playing in exhibition games. All other divisions will begin the season the weekend of Oct. 13/14, 2012. Players/parents will be contacted by their coaches by Oct 5, 2012.

Select Tryouts

The Select tryout schedule will be posted on our website at the end of August. Tryouts will begin after Labour Day weekend. Any player who is registered for the 2012/2013 season is welcome to try out for his or her age appropriate Select team (by birth year). Note, you do not have to indicate on your registration form your wish to try out for Select, however, you MUST be registered in our House League in order to try out for a Select team.

Other Registration Options

There are a few options you can choose when you register:

Playing with a friend:  We will try to place your child on a team with the friend you have identified in your registration application.  We cannot always ensure that your child is on the same team as his or her identified friend, though, especially with stronger players.  Please see our page on Balancing for details.

Goalies: In some of the divisions players will share or rotate through this position. Please indicate on the registration application whether or not your child is interested in being a goalie.

Volunteers:  If you are able to volunteer, in any capacity, please let us know! Please indicate in what capacity you are able to volunteer. We need volunteers both on and off the ice. You will be contacted closer to the start of the season to clarify and confirm your position. Thank you.
